About me

I’m Boris Frantskevich, a fine art photographer based in Sydney with a passion for storytelling through imagery.

My work is inspired by the techniques of the Old Masters and cinematic storytelling, bringing timeless elegance and emotional depth into modern portraiture.

My fine art photography invites viewers to explore details, smile at surrealism, and appreciate the ideas behind the images. Each photograph tells a story—whether it is intriguing, dramatic, humorous, or melancholic. I draw inspiration from Baroque painters such as Peter Paul Rubens, Anthony van Dyck, and Michelangelo Caravaggio, as well as contemporary masters like Erwin Olaf and Gregory Crewdson.

Alongside my digital work, I also practice tintype photography—an analog process from the 19th century. Working with a large format camera, I create each image by hand using light-sensitive chemistry, where silver, glass, and metal come together in a process that feels like true alchemy—capturing portraits through the magic of light and chemistry.

What I Offer

My photography is project-based, ensuring that every shoot is carefully planned and executed. Whether it’s a fine art portrait, a cinematic character study, or a custom creative project, I craft each session with meticulous attention to styling, lighting, and post-production.

In addition to fine art photography, I offer tintype photo days—where you can experience this historic process and create a single handcrafted plate—as well as individual tintype sessions, where the number of plates is not limited.

You’re not just booking a photoshoot—you’re booking an experience that transforms the way you see yourself.
